Wake of the Beast

Last session, the party reunited with Sorro, only to find she had been transformed into a tiefling. During their conversation, they learned a dark truth: to revive Pyre, Sorro had struck a pact with the Betrayer King. The price of this deal was spending the past twelve years in the Nine Hells, serving as the King's personal bounty hunter. With this revelation hanging over them, the group faced a massive tactical dilemma. They needed to investigate the cultist attackers in Makx, defend Kontecol from further assaults, and combat the disease ravaging Aramashi. At Rex's suggestion, the party decided to split their forces, knowing time was of the essence. While their allies headed for Makx and Aramashi, the party returned to Kontecol to retrieve an exhausted Gilvana. Walking through the streets, they witnessed the sheer devastation left in the cultists' wake. The A.S.S. Holdings building was completely levelled, and a downed airship lay crashed into the Destrezza Academy. But the heaviest blow waited in the academy's courtyard, where rows of the deceased had been laid out to rest. Among the bodies was their old friend and CEO of A.S.S. Holdings, Remy.
