Ultimatum

Last session, the party tried to negotiate with the bandits that called themselves the Lords of Paragon. The party tried to understand the Lord's motivations and goals. However, the more they talked, the more it was clear that the two groups held differing values.

Later on, the party was able to meet with the real Vernal where they were forced to work under Vernal or be imprisoned. But the party was able to talk Vernal down. Instead of asking for total submission, he is asking for mutually assured destruction instead. Vernal offers his best fighter in exchange for a party member.

Not willing to let a member of the party go, the group resorted to violence and took down Vernal before he could react. The party leapt out the window with the unconscious Vernal in tow as they escaped the bandit's hideout.
