Headwind
Last session, the party awoke with a start to the sound of the Headwind team arguing among themselves. Following the tense display, Pond and Brig confirmed the frustrating news: both groups would be traveling the exact same path. Before setting out, the party gathered to discuss the strange voices they had each heard the night before, debating whether the whispers of the Maze could be trusted. Ultimately, they decided to proceed with heightened caution. Traveling alongside Headwind, the oppressive noises of the Maze began to induce panic among the group. They were eventually corralled into a chamber centered around a deep pool of water. Conquering their hesitation, everyone took a collective breath and dived in. The party surfaced in what appeared to be a massive underground ocean dotted with towering black spires. Almost immediately, warning alarms began to blare, and hostile Water Weirds approached through the waves. Reacting quickly, the group managed to silence the alarms by scrambling out of the water and climbing to the very top of the spires to evade the creatures below.
The party finishes up their long rest was greeted with drama early in the day. This is going to be a looooong trek to the Dead Zone.
