At the summit, they discovered a buckler fused to a branch; finding no other way to claim it, they broke the wood free—an act that drew the immediate, violent ire of the forest. Within seconds, a cloud of ceramic insects swarmed the party. The ensuing battle was long and arduous, pushing everyone to their absolute limits. In the heat of the struggle, two major secrets were laid bare: Celeste revealed the divine blood in her veins as she manifested her Aasimar heritage, while Zaryaan unleashed powerful magic previously unknown to the group. After a seemingly never-ending fight, the party took a desperate leap into an electric-blue pool below, remaining submerged until the swarm finally dispersed. With the buckler in hand and new questions hanging in the air, the party regrouped at the bridge, ready to push deeper into the unknown.
